The advantages of gulet sailing

Gulet sailing is something different to experience, cause Gulet is a traditional wooden sailboat which usually is a motorboat, but also has 2 or 3 sails, so some of them also have fully functional sails.

Gulet has from minimum 3 to maximum 9 cabins and it is perfect for a bigger family or friends cruise. You can definitely say it is a hotel on water. Every Gulet has its own crew who will be on your disposal during the whole sailing trip! The crew usually consists of Captain, Hostesses and Cooks.

  GULET FORTUNA

We talked to Mrs. Mirna Torić, the owner of Gulet “Fortuna” one of the most beautiful Gulets on Croatian coast and she introduced us with Gulet sailing as well as its advantages.  Gulet “Fortuna” is a 33 meter long, elegant laminated mahogany schooner, with teack deck, which is huge and has sunbathing beds and lounge area for guests.

Outer space on Gulet “Fortuna” also has a beautiful lounge with place to chill, eat, whatever you like!

All of Gulet Fortuna’s sails are fully functional and crew are professional sailors. Guests can join the crew team giving a hand during the sailing or just relax enjoying the smooth sailing, no sound of engine and complete touch with nature.

Gulet “Fortuna”also has perfectly designed interior to details. It has a beautiful saloon for inner dinning.

Gulet “Fortuna” has 7 cabins and 7 bathrooms (which are home like), 4 of them are with double beds and 3 of them are with twin beds.  Every cabin has an air conditioning.

Gulet “Fortuna” has 2 generators and a water maker, which drastically lowers the costs of cruising, cause the boat is totally independent of marinas (if we take in consideration that one day in Marina for a boat like this cost around 500 EUR).

CENTOURS: Why choosing a Gulet and not a sailboat? What are the advantages of sailing on a Gulet?

Mrs. MIRNA: The main advantage of Gulet is in comfort that is offered to the clients. Cabins are bigger and wider, and it feels like home. The crew cleans the cabins and the boat in total, guests does not need to think what they will prepare to eat, and the sailing route is arranged in agreement with the captain.

CENTOURS: Why is “Fortuna” special?

Mrs. MIRNA: Gulet “Fortuna” is a motor boat which has fully functional 4 sails and can sail if weather conditions allow it of course. It is completely berth independent, which drastically lowers the costs of gulet sailing.

CENTOURS: How many Crew members does “Fortuna” have?

Mrs. MIRNA: We have 4 crew members. Captain – my husband, Hostess – me, Chef and Steward/Deckhand

CENTOURS: What extra equipment do you offer for your guests?

Mrs. MIRNA: Fortuna has a big sundeck space with sun pillows. On the bow there is a large lounge space which also has stereo surround system so guests can chill there during the day or in the night hours. We also offer extra equipment for sport activities such as canoes for two, water ski, water tube/donut, snorkelling equipment and dingy with outboard engine.

CENTOURS: How does one day on Gulet “Fortuna” looks like?

Mrs. MIRNA: We sail off in the morning after breakfast, at the lunch time we are in the hidden cove sunbathing and enjoying water sport activities far always from crowded towns. In the late afternoon we are heading to towns and we are anchoring close, so our clients could be transported with dinghies on the coast or we go into ports, whatever our clients want!

Week price is from 1.000 EUR per person/week and it includes crew with 4 members, up to 4 hours of cruise per day, bed linen, towels and cleaning
