How much does a yacht charter cost?

When you decide you want to charter a yacht, the main question you will have is “what is yacht charter price” for a week or two.

Boat rental costs are first costs you need to take in consideration. In yacht charter Croatia, you can charter sailing yacht, catamaran, motor yacht and a Gulet. Sailing yacht prices are from 1.000 EUR (sometimes less in preseason period) for a 3-cabin sailboat to 10.000 EUR. Prices are higher when sailing yacht is bigger, with more cabins and newer. Catamarans are a little bit more expensive, because they are more spacious and usually luxurious than a regular sailing yacht, so you can find them from 1.500 EUR in preseason period till 15.000 EUR in season period. Motor yachts are more expensive than catamarans or equal, but here you must take in consideration fuel consumption which is high. Gulets are the most expensive once, with prices from 10.000 EUR per week in season period.

If you do not have a necessary licence, you will have to hire a skipper. Skipper costs are 150 EUR per day + food, which means you will need to provide him food.

Other than boat rental costs, there are several necessary costs that are obligatory, and you need to include them in your budget. First one is Transit log costs, which are costs that can be paid both in advance or in base while taking over the vessel and they include end cleaning of the boat, issuing all the documents required for chartering a vessel, check in and check out procedures, etc. Transit log costs are from 100 to 300 EUR and varies due to agency terms.

Second cost, that is also obligatory, is Security deposit cost. This cost includes an amount of usually from 1000 to 3000 EUR (depending on a vessel value and agency policy) that you need to give in the charter agency during check in for insurance matters. The amount is not charged if no faults on the boat are done that are in your area of responsibility.

When you take over the vessel the vessel has full tank of fuel. When you are returning the vessel, you need to return it with a full tank of fuel also.

In yacht charter Croatia costs, you must also include costs of Marinas. The prices in Marinas are usually from 20 EUR to 200 EUR (depending on a boat size, Marina policy). These costs you will pay there. How much will you spend on Marinas, depends on your preferences, because it is not necessary to spend every single night in Marina, you can always anchor in a hidden cove, which is even more beautiful.

Here is calculated total yacht charter price with boat rental price and all other yacht charter Croatia costs you need for chartering a 3-cabin sailboat in a season period. As a representative example, we will take Dufour 350 GL “Ronja” because we love Dufour boats the most. The sailboat is from 2017, situated in Marina Kremik/Primosten – Croatia, it is 10.28 meters long, has 3 cabins and 1 WC/Shower. Total capacity is 8 people but more comfortable will be if there are 6 persons. The boat rental costs are 2,340.00 EUR for high season date 21st July till 28th July 2018. Transit log is 180.00 EUR (includes Final cleaning, WiFi, Dinghy with Outboard engine and fuel, Linen readymade beds, Towels 2 per pax, cooking gas, Kitchen toiletry, Small cosmetic set, Toilet paper, Welcome surprise pack) and Security deposit is 1,500.00 EUR.
